On 8 and 9 November 2022 the Director of the Security branch, Ms. Rossella Altamura, has attended the International Procurement Seminar (IPS) held in Turin at ITCILO since Smart Revolution Security has been selected as a potential vendor for United Nations Agencies. It was an interesting initiative promoted by the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) and organized by the Italian Trade Agency, Turin Chamber of Commerce, Ceipiemonte, Moroccan investment and export development agency, Croatian Chamber of Economy, Mission of Israel to the UN and Israel Trade Mission to Italy.
The United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) is the official procurement portal of the United Nations System and provides suppliers with a central and unique registration process for 30 UN organizations. This inter-agency initiative was initiated in the 1990s and has evolved during time, up to the point of becoming a fundamental access to the UN market. Any incorporated company interested in doing business with the UN can register on the portal according to 3 different levels of registration: while the basic level of registration is always required, Level 1 and Level 2 may be required by certain UN organizations to participate in specific procurement opportunities.
For Smart Revolution Security it was a great occasion to get more info on the UN procurement system and to have one to one meetings with UN Agencies, since the value of UN procurement in 2021 was 22.3 billion USD, with a 12% growth in comparison to the previous year. In the opening session of the event it was mentioned that “we have selected some of the best we have to offer to the UN system in terms of quality, innovation and sustainability“, therefore we are particularly proud we were selected for the event due to our security sector and the specialized training we offer to personnel traveling to high-risk and medium-risk countries.
