The Smart Revolution security training team is made up of highly qualified professionals in the fields of security and medical and psychological health. All instructors have military and law enforcement backgrounds and experience in complex security scenarios, overseas missions and relevant specializations, as well as extensive experience in training civilian personnel in personal security for missions in high- and medium-risk countries.
CEO SMART REVOLUTION SECURITY
Rossella Altamura is the Co-Founder and Administrator of Smart Revolution Security and Smart Revolution. Rossella leads all activities related to Travel Risk Management (TRM), Travel Security, and Crisis Management, overseeing the design, implementation, and strategic development of the company’s entire security consulting and training portfolio. She has more than 12 years of experience in the security and civilian crisis management sector, developed through collaboration with national and European Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Authorities. These services are delivered to EU Institutions, International Organizations, NGOs, media companies, and both public and private sector entities.
In her current role, she directs the strategic development and delivery of specialized consulting and training services, focusing on risk assessment, prevention, mitigation, and management, as well as the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), country security plans, country risk assessments, scenario-based exercises, and training injects. She coordinates corporate consulting services for the design, implementation, and independent auditing of Travel Risk Management (TRM) Systems in accordance with ISO 31030 guidelines. Rossella is a RINA-certified Technical Expert in Travel Risk Management (TRM) and serves as the technical lead for the partnership with AOI (Association of Italian NGOs), supporting the training of personnel operating in hostile environments. She is also a member of AIPSA (Italian Association of Corporate Security Professionals) and participates in its dedicated Travel Risk Management Working Group.
In the field of high-risk environment training, Rossella has been designing and delivering HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) courses for over 12 years and serves as an instructor on selected security-related subjects. She currently acts as Project Leader for the DG ECHO HEAT Project in Jordan (2023–2027) and for the European Union Delegation HEAT Project in Jordan (2023–2027). Previously, on behalf of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, she managed the HEAT Project for European Union Institutions (2016–2020) and the HEAT Project for FRONTEX personnel (2019). Within these initiatives, she delivered 30 HEAT courses in cooperation with the 1st Parachute Regiment Tuscania and the Folgore Airborne Brigade. She also designed and implemented SSAFE (Safe and Secure Approaches in Field Environments) training courses in collaboration with UNDSS for FAO personnel.
With regard to international quality standards, Rossella participated in the Certification Working Group of ENTRi (Europe’s New Training Initiative for Civilian Crisis Management), where she led a pilot project monitoring the compliance of HEAT courses delivered by European providers against ENTRi standards. In addition, she has served as a security expert consultant to the Center of Excellence for Stability Police Units (CoESPU) of the Italian Carabinieri, supporting the EUPCST project, and advised the Serbian Armed Forces on the Comprehensive Generic Training on Peace Operations (CGTPO) during an observation mission facilitated by the OSCE.
Giacomo is Co-Founder and Administrator of Smart Revolution. For Smart Revolution Security, he manages client relationships, oversees financial administration, and actively contributes to the strategic planning, design, and implementation of training and consulting services.
Giacomo holds a Master’s Degree in Corporate Communication and Human Resources Policy from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Pisa. He subsequently specialized in European Project Management, Subsidized Finance, and European Social Fund (ESF) Structural Funds.
As Head of Business Services at Smart Revolution, he works as a Project Manager on a wide range of business incentive and funding programs at national, regional, and local levels. His areas of expertise include Research & Development, Innovation, Internationalization, Sustainability and Green Transition, Patents, and Digitalization.
COL&V MANAGER
Co-Founder and Administrator of Smart Revolution, Enrica is the Head of Competence-Oriented Learning and Validation (COL&V) for Smart Revolution Security. She has extensive experience in adult education, training design, and competence-oriented learning and validation, having worked on numerous Erasmus+ projects focused on assessing and validating personal, social, and organizational competences acquired in non-formal and informal learning contexts. Enrica coordinates the validation process using the LEVEL5 approach and ensures that all training courses are designed based on a competence-oriented learning methodology. At Smart Revolution, she also leads the European Project Management sector, aimed at supporting public and private entities in Italy and abroad in the drafting, management, and evaluation of European, national, and regional projects.
TRAINING SUPPORT
Tommaso actively assists the Executive Management Team in the implementation of the training services organised by Smart Revolution Security, in particular for the logistical aspects related to the training activities in Italy and abroad.
Specialized in Tourism Management and Planning, he has professional experience as an Operations Manager and Financial Consultant for ESN Compostela (Spain), Operations Coordinator for Welcome Incoming Services of Globalia, and Senior Policing Analyst for MSC Cruises (UK). He has designed tailor-made itineraries for more than 2,000 participants per year and provided technical assistance in tourism destination management and product development. At Smart Revolution, Tommaso is the Head of Grant Development & Administration and works within the consulting division for private companies.
REAL-LIFE SCENARIO COORDINATOR
Alberico is the Real-Life Scenario Coordinator for Smart Revolution Security, where he handles various operational aspects of the sector’s experiential activities. After earning his degree in Agricultural Sciences, Alberico completed a PhD in Biology at the University of Jena in Germany.
He is also involved in European project design, specializing in innovative startups and deep-tech. Before joining the team, his career spanned both industry and research in the field of microbiology. His adaptability is reflected in both his professional and personal life; in fact, Alberico is an outdoor enthusiast, expert in single- and multi-day hiking across various terrains. He frequently acts as a mountain guide and is well-versed in survival camping.
TRAINING SUPPORT
Alessia provides support to Smart Revolution Security by actively contributing to the planning and organization of training courses.
Alessia holds a degree in International and Diplomatic Relations from the University of Bologna and a Level I Master’s degree in European Policies, Projects, and Funding from the University of Padova. Passionate about politics and international affairs, she attended a course organized by the Center for Geopolitical Studies on the contemporary geopolitics of the Middle East. In addition to her role as Training Support, Alessia works for Smart Revolution in consultancy services for private companies and in the management of European projects.
PROJECT MANAGER
Angelica works as a Project Manager at Smart Revolution Security, where she provides consultancy services in Travel Risk Management and develops training programmes in Travel Security and Crisis Management. She supports professionals operating in medium-to high-risk environments by delivering threat assessments, risk mitigation strategies, and operational preparedness tools. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from LUISS Guido Carli University and a Master’s degree in International Security Studies from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies. Her professional background has developed at the intersection of international cooperation, humanitarian operations, and security studies. She has gained experience in international cooperation and humanitarian response, working on project management, multi-stakeholder coordination, and public policy support in the areas of crisis management, migration contexts, and civil-military cooperation with international organisations, research institutions, NGOs, and NATO Centres of Excellence across Italy, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Türkiye, Morocco, and Côte d’Ivoire.
TRAINING SUPPORT
Camilla provides support to Smart Revolution Security by actively contributing to the planning and organization of training courses.
Camilla studied at the Faculty of Law at the University of Pisa, graduating with a degree in Business Law and developing a specific interest in the strategic and organisational processes that underpin the growth of businesses.
During her professional placement at Smart Revolution, she was introduced to the world of international relations and travel security, developing a keen interest in the issues addressed by Smart Revolution Security.
In addition to her role as Training Support, she now works in the field of subsidised finance, assisting national businesses in accessing growth tools and opportunities.
JUNIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Luca works as a Junior Project Manager at Smart Revolution Security. He actively supports the Team in the projects design, management, and implementation phases, as well as in organising the training and consultancy solutions offered by Smart Revolution Security. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International and Diplomatic Sciences from the University of Bologna and a Master’s degree in European Governance from the Institute of Political Studies of Grenoble (France). Thanks to various editorial activities during his academic career and previous internship experiences in the Italian and European non-profit sector, he has become familiar with the concept of resilience to crises and to current and future global challenges, fostering a strong personal and professional interest in the geopolitical and social developments in Europe.
TRAINING SUPPOR
Marco serves as Training Support for Smart Revolution Security. In this role, he collaborates closely with the Executive Management Team in the implementation of Smart Revolution Security training services.
His academic background includes a Degree in Agricultural Sciences and a Level I Master’s in Food, Quality, Management and Communication from the University of Pisa. During his studies, Marco gained experience in fiduciary services for international trade fairs and events, developing a keen interest in the Security sector. Following his Master’s, he specialized in business consultancy with a specific focus on subsidized finance (finanza agevolata), expertise that he now applies to Smart Revolution projects.
