Some highlights of our Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) course held from 4 to 8 April 2022, just after the end of the state of emergency in Italy due to the covid-19 pandemic. Glad we managed to start again with residential training after the many challenges of the pandemic and the most recent outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine. The instability of the international scenario and the consequences on civilians have proven once more the importance of preparation to prevent, mitigate and manage risks related to travel or work in high-risk and middle-risk countries.
We would like to thank our participants, coming from Canada, Sweden, and Italy, for trusting us with their preparation for some of the most challenging international scenarios and of course for the human side of the training, since meeting again in presence, discussing for hours after dinner and sharing stories is indeed what makes the HEAT course a unique experience. In just 5 days of training we all felt deeply enriched.
